Walk Anywhere

Details

No matter where you are, you can walk for ovarian cancer.

When you sign up for our Walk Anywhere Package you are also signing up for our awareness challenge

A major pillar of our foundation is to spread awareness about the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer. A woman’s lifetime risk is 1 in 78 and there is NO accurate screening test for this disease. The only way we can protect women everywhere is by spreading awareness about the signs and symptoms of this disease. Whether you have a personal connection with ovarian cancer or you just want to help save lives, the awareness challenge is a significant and fun way to help us with our mission.

It works like this:

  • Once you register, you’ll gain access to a PDF with links to the bingo card, Facebook group, guided meditation, and more. We’ll also be mailing some materials to you. Make sure to join the private Facebook group!
  • Then on Saturday, September 12th, you’ll do your walk with your bingo card in hand!  Get 5 in a row (up, down, or diagonal) to receive a special certificate and a big thanks from the Tell Every Amazing Lady® team.

Audrey Z.

My name is Audrey and I am a retired elementary teacher and principal. I am a mother, wife, and identical twin sister. I recently became a mother-in-law! I am also an Ovarian and Endometrial Cancer survivor. I was diagnosed in March 2010 with no family history. I was 55 years old. Needless to say it was a major shock! I had excellent cancer doctors/surgeons/nurse practitioners/nurses for which I will be forever grateful. But I am also beyond grateful for Tell Every Amazing Lady® (T.E.A.L.®)!

Everyone involved with this phenomenal organization supported me in ways that I never imagined. Tell Every Amazing Lady®’s focus is to provide awareness and education about Ovarian Cancer. They offer weekly meaningful guided meditations, fun Survivor Socials, 5K runs/walks,  jewelry making classes, informative and educational workshops, and even an eyebrow workshop! And I cannot forget about the birthday boxes survivors receive since, as we know, every birthday is to be celebrated. Tell Every Amazing Lady® offers extensive resources to Survivors and their families as well.

Please check out their website to find out more and/or to donate.  Please drop by to say hello to me at Tell Every Amazing Lady® Brooklyn 5K Fun Run in Prospect Park on Saturday, September 12.

Make Them Run!

On the day of the event, come find these amazing individuals and DONATE to “Make Them Run” for Tell Every Amazing Lady® in this extra special miles fundraising challenge.

These amazing runners have pledged to help us raise funds for our underfunded women’s health programming by doing what they do best, RUNNING!

All of them are ready to put their legs to the test. “Make Them Run” for it by donating on the day of the event and they’ll add mileage on top of their 5k for each dollar donated.

They can’t do it without YOU, so show up and DONATE to help them run circles around ovarian cancer.

The history of the T.E.A.L.® Walk/Run™ Program

The T.E.A.L.® Walk/Run™ Program was established in 2009 in Brooklyn. These  events celebrate the courage of ovarian cancer survivors and the strength of the families who’ve been touched by the disease, while spreading awareness to the public and raising money for research and take place in various cities in the United States. A full map of those locations can be found here.

An illustrated portrait of a smiling woman with an updo and dangling earrings is displayed next to text reading Tell Every Amazing Lady About Ovarian Cancer on a light teal background.

Louisa M. McGregor: The Original Amazing Lady and Co-Founder of Tell Every Amazing Lady®

Louisa M. McGregor was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2007. She quickly realized the lack of awareness, education and resources available for this disease.  Louisa took matters into her own hands and along with her sister, Pamela Esposito-Amery, created the first ever T.E.A.L.® Walk/Run in Prospect Park and the Tell Every Amazing Lady® About Ovarian Cancer Louisa M. McGregor Ovarian Cancer Foundation was born. She spent the remainder of her life determined to make a difference in other women’s lives. As Louisa always said, KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.
